1915 Clement Bayard Car Mascot, Hood Ornament

Clement Bayard Knight in armour carrying spear and sword. Signed by Ch.Paillet, c.1915-1920. Fantastic original. A mascot for a perfectionist. Two versions were made, one with pennant and the second with the sword and spear. Photographed and described in Michel Legrand book 'Mascottes Passion' Plate 173. Mounted on a very early fine French radiator cap.
Dimensions : 210mm high.
Condition : Finished in bronze with superb detailing. Signed on base. This is an exceptionally rare find, with both original sword and spear intact and in top condition, with wonderful patination.
