Coq Gaulois, signed by Charles Paillet, French 1920-1924. This is the earliest 1920 bronze version used on Voisin cars in the service of the president of the French Republic at the time of Alexandre Millerand 1920-1924. Photographed and described in Michel Legrand book 'Mascottes Automobiles' Plate 850, showing the mascot, plus photo showing it mounted on the car.

Condition :
Totally original gilded bronze, signed Ch Paillet to the base, with the original French radiator cap. Some honest wear to cap from being used in Presidential service, otherwise the mascot has the original patination and the original gilding is still intact. Condition commensurate with the age of the piece.
