1921 Dragonfly Girl Car Mascot, Hood Ornament

‘Femme Libellule’, Victor Rossi Dragonfly nude girl flying in the wind, her hair cascading down her back and over her arms - Her wings are amazingly finely sculpted in naturalistic form. This is perhaps the most stylish and beautiful example of all female form mascots. Created and sculpted in silvered bronze by Victor Rossi in 1921. Signed V.Rossi, with his Paris address 105 Rue des Dames impressed to the rear of the base. It won the third prize in the L'Auto Concourse in 1921. Photographed and described in the Michel Legrand book 'Mascottes Passion' Page 41, Plate 17. Being the finest representation of Pure Allegorical Art, it is a gilt edged investment for future years, and the ultimate prize for a perfectionist serious mascot collector.
Dimensions : 260mm long, 130mm high.
Condition : Fantastic detail and definition to the face, hair, wings, drapes, hands and feet. In absolutely fabulous and faultless condition. The signature and address are clearly marked to the side and rear of the base, the stud and nut are correct. Wooden display base mounted. It would be impossible to find a better example of this piece anywhere in the world.
