Elephant emerging from Egg mascot. Inscribed 'L’OEUF D'ELEPHANT' and complete with 'DEPOSE' stamp. Attributed to Cardielhac. This is the larger and rarest size. c.1920's. Sold exclusively through Robert Benoit, Bugatti agent, 46 Avenue Montaigne in Paris. One of the most famous mascots of all time. Photographed and described in Michel Legrand book 'Mascottes Automobiles' Plate 680.

Superb detail and nice original patination. Heavy nickel bronze, with full clear inscription to base, plus 'Depose' stamp. Condition commensurate with the age of the piece.
