1918 Gregoire Archer Car Mascot, Hood Ornament

Gregoire, 'Archer Egyptienne', (Egyptian Archer) mascot c.1918, made by M.Guiraud Riviere in Cire Perdue (Lost Wax) process. This is a unique bronze mascot with full base markings, signature, date and Depose French stamp. It is a massive and extremely imposing piece. It was only made from 1918-1924. Photographed and described in Michel Legrand book 'Mascottes Automobiles' Plate 560.
Dimensions : 170mm high.
Condition : Absolutely amazing condition, the definition of the signature of M.Guiraud Riviere is absolutely outstanding. The bow and arrow are totally original and the lovely honest patination of over 80 years is a joy to behold. Mounted on a fine turned wooden display base.
