1925 Ivory faced Kid Car Mascot, Hood Ornament

The Kid mascot by Jean Verschneider, this is the exceptionally rare largest size, with the deluxe ivory face, made in 1925. Wonderful find, and a true work of art. This depicts Jackie Coogan, and was used as his personal mascot. Very rare mascot indeed with the ivory face. Photographed and described in William C. Williams book 'Motoring Mascots of the World' Plate 560. Also Mascottes Automobiles by Michel Legrand plate 376 - Page 120.

Condition :
The original ivory on face is still intact and seventy five years old, has a small chip to side of nose, and is veined of age, giving the mascot great character. Signed to the reverse of base J.Verschneider, with 'The Kid' logo to front of base. Heavy nickel bronze. Condition commensurate with the age of the piece. Display base mounted.
