Butterfly Girl, satin finish glass Red Ashay car mascot. Beautiful, and very rare, Red Ashay was the trade name for the H.G.Aucher Company of Acomb Street, Manchester, who from 1928-1939 produced a range of thirty glass mascots to rival Lalique's range. This company had some very notable clients, indeed the King of Siam purchased four of the early mascots. These are now highly sought after, and this fabulous early example would make a superb addition to any mascot collection. See detail on page 127, showing the piece depicted in the original factory catalogue from Automotive Mascots, a collectors Guide, by Kay and Springate. This figure is one of five designs registered between April 1928 and April 1931, and is thought to be a representation of a famous German cabaret dancer of the late 1920's. Fantastic mascot.
