1930's Red Ashay Kneeling Nude Glass Hood Ornament
(Move down to see further photographs)
Red Ashay Kneeling nude, mascot in frosted glass, 1930's original. A great rarity. Red Ashay was the trade name for the H.G.Aucher Company of Acomb Street, Manchester, who from 1928-1939 produced a range of thirty glass mascots to rival Lalique's range. This company had some very notable clients, indeed the King of Siam purchased four of the early mascots. These pieces are now highly sought after, and this fabulous early example would make a superb addition to any mascot collection. See detail on page 128, showing the piece depicted in the original factory advertisement in Autocar entitled 'Beauty for the Car', taken from Automotive Mascots, a collectors Guide, by Kay and Springate. Also photographed and described in Michel Legrand book 'Mascottes Passion' Plate 61.
Dimensions : 115mm high.
Condition : In superb totally original 1930's condition. Never restored or abused in any way.
